READ FOOD LABELS FOR HEALTHY EATING

  • Read food labels to help you plan healthy meals.
  • Food labels give lots of information like serving size, calories, and amount of fat in a serving.
  • Look on the front of the package for facts like "high fiber."
  • Look at the "Nutrition Facts" on the side or the back of the package to learn about nutritional values.
  • Food values like "calories" are for the serving size printed on the label.
  • Look at the ingredient list to learn what is in the food.
