My research focuses on the economic analysis of water resource and ecosystem management policies. Active projects include coupled hydrologic-economic modeling of surface water-groundwater interactions for preserving instream flows; analysis of municipal utility vulnerability to increased drinking water salinity; and research on ecosystem management (e.g. for preventing lake eutrophication or preserving salmonid habitat) in the presence of stochastic environmental thresholds.
